The Grade 1, $750,000 Florida Derby and undercard drew well in what may be the last big weekend of racing action for the foreseeable future amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which has shut down most racetracks around the world.

The races on Saturday at Gulfstream Park will be conducted in front of an empty grandstand, but the stakes action on the card stands to provide plenty of excitement with intriguing storylines.

Tiz the Law is the 6-5 morning line favorite for the 69th running of the Florida Derby. The 2020 Holy Bull (G3) winner trained up to this race, bypassing Gulfstream's Fountain of Youth (G2) late last month.

The speedy Ete Indien and Independence Hall, winner of three of his four career starts, are the co-headliners for the 1 1/8-mile feature on the main track, scheduled for 6:36 p.m. ET.
